The transcendental shapes revealed in mirror image photography evoke a sense of meditation and spirituality. It's as if each image becomes a portal to a serene realm, inviting introspection and a connection to something beyond the ordinary.

It all started for me while I was out kayaking in a serene swamp of old-growth cypress trees along the Black River in the South Carolina low country. The setting was dark, the black water eerily calm, and then, out of nowhere, the sun pierced through the trees, casting a perfect reflection of everything around me. That's when the magic happened. My surroundings transformed into this mystical dreamscape, with land and water blending into a symmetrical mirror image of captivating shapes.

In 2003, I set off on a journey of discovery. For one day each week, I'd venture into quiet, remote locations to capture nature's beauty with my camera and convert the photographs into mirror images. Fast forward 10 years, and I had amassed hundreds of mirror images. I downloaded them all into a database and started noticing commonalities. I uncovered curious faces, strange creatures, enchanted shires, temples, and harmonious organic patterns. It felt like peeling back the layers of a hidden nature.

I shared these images in 3 notable art exhibitions from 2009 to 2011.
