International African American Museum selects Steve Tanner premium footage for exhibit films

The International African American Museum is a museum of African-American history in Charleston, South Carolina.

Steve Tanner footage was selected for two exhibit films focusing on the historical significance of the Rice production industry that flourished in South Carolina prior to the civil war with Southern plantations forcing slave labor to cultivate over 40,000 acres of tidal rice fields.

It was uncertain at the beginning of the project if there was enough existing footage to justify moving forward with the two films but a search on youtube revealed video footage (shown below) by aerial videographer, Steve Tanner of rice fields growing wild on Estherville Plantation in Georgetown, SC.

More Rice Field video

Contact was made and footage curated for a review of historic rice fields now growing wild in the South Carolina low country.  The museum decided there was enough high quality video footage to support two feature films - Carolina Gold and Atlantic Worlds

Video footage was purchased in 4K resolution since the films are shown on a cinema screen and video wall in the museum.
